In the Heart of the Lost World

13 days/ 12 nights- 5 nights on the top

Mount Roraima

Download Itinerary

Roraima is a natural sanctuary that contains, in its mystical world, ancestral mysteries that the Pemón have known how to keep, through generations. The cosmogony of this ethnic group is based on the belief of beings that live in the heights and decide the destiny of those who inhabit the earthly world.

Every time a mortal dares to venture to the top of this Pemón Olympus, he must offer the gods a fermented yucca drink, called Cachiri; it is in this way that he earns the right to ascend to the “Mother of All Waters.”
Exploring this “Lost World” is entering a place isolated in time; it is like being on another planet, where the endemic landscapes and ecosystems of these formations tell us about the antiquity and geographical and evolutionary isolation.

It is a place that inspires; excites and leaves positive traces, for life, to the adventurer; its rock formations, its waterfalls, rivers, flora and fauna; its changing climate, its vertiginous vertical walls attest to witnessing the origin of the world.
Welcome to the Lost World!

We continue our march towards the Roraima Base Camp (1,950 meters above sea level). It is a unique walk where we will experience a temperature variation of 28°C to 24°C and a drop of 850 meters between the Kukenán River and the base of Roraima; where the fascinating endemic landscape, flora and fauna make us understand the respect and ancestral veneration of the indigenous peoples for this place. Upon arriving at the base camp we can take a bath in cold, crystal-clear water coming from the mountain. Night in tents. (B/L/D)

DAY 6.- THE LOST WORLD. (Base Camp / Summit)
We begin the ascent through the only natural access that Mount Roraima has, called The Rampa (3.5 km), which has an approximate slope of 50° characterized by endemic vegetation, humidity, rocks of all sizes and streams; waterfalls caused by rain or dew on the surface. We cross the Straight of the Tears and continue ascending, until we reach the entrance to Lost World. This trail will take us around 4 to 5 hours of walking. Upon reaching the top, we will walk for another hour among rock formations that challenge our imagination; we arrive at some caves formed by wind erosion called Hotels, which will serve as a camp to place our tents.
